Uploading a custom config file with Advanced Provisioner

Note: This article involves working with configuration files. Before you begin, please be advised of the following:

(a) We are not able to provide assistance on the specifics of the config files. You will need to directly consult with your manufacturer or distributor.

_(b) The configuration files you upload will be merged into our base configuration file. As a result, you should only contain the specific settings you want to adjust. Do not include any additional settings beyond what you need. Doing so will risk conflicts with the base settings of our provisioner, and produce unexpected results.
_

(c) If you are using custom configs, please first test the device without any custom config file settings prior to filing a support ticket with us. It will make troubleshooting issues much smoother.

(d) Currently, our Advanced Provisioner only supports custom configuration files for Yealink (using firmware v81+), and Polycom. Other models are not supported, and we do not have an ETA for adding support for others yet.

Follow these steps to build and upload your config file:

1. Obtain a copy of the base configuration file for your device

2. Modify the config file so that it only contains the specific elements you wish to modify

3. Open Advanced Provisioner, and choose Devices > Settings

4. Scroll down to Configuration Settings, and update Custom Config File URL with the URL of your config file on your local intranet where your phone can access it.

5. Choose Save when you are completed.

6. Reboot your device.
