Setting up a ring group

Ring groups allow you to ring multiple users as a group (either at once, one after the other, or some other custom ordering). Follow these steps to create a ring group

  1. Open Smart PBX and choose Groups > Add Group

  1. Enter a group name (e.g. “Sales”), an extension (optional), and drag over the users you want to include in the group. When you are completed, click Create Group

Your group is now created. Continue following these steps to configure the ring pattern (who rings when, and for how long).

  1. Within the group page still, click the Members column, and drag the sliders according to your preferences.

The numbers in the sliders are the number of seconds, NOT the number of rings. You can estimate that a “ring” is roughly 6 seconds. So in the example below, “Derrick Johnson” and “John Thomson” will ring at 0 seconds (so immediately), followed by “John Smith” ringing after 20 seconds (or approximately 3 rings).

When you are completed, click Save Changes.

  1. To configure a fallback if no one answers the ring group, click the Group Features column, and choose Next Action

  1. Check Enabled, choose your destination, and click Save Changes

  1. The green arrow will indicate that you have successfully setup the forward
